The Darelycks featured my best friend Steve Lareau (guitar & vocals)and High School mates John Tiberio (on drums & vocals) and Tom Pomponio (bass) and...(sorry, I'll have to get the rest from Steve)..I still have two copies on wax and one of the acetates of this ("Bad Trip") and its flip "Wait For Me" (kind of a Turtles like thingee)
In 1979 Steve and I resurrectecd The Darelcks as The Darelyx and went retro-punk & garage & psychedelic and opened for Robert Fripp and played around Rochester, New York for a year with Steve on gi7utar & vocals, Myself (Duncan Walls on vocals & organ), Klaus Petersen a/k/a "Tex Hitler" (guitar) ande the Newton Brothers, Rolfe on drums and Phil on Bass & vocals.
That band broke up and Steve and I tried one more time with original member John Tiberio's nephew on Bass & vocals and one more gentleman (his name is somewhere) on drums. We were doing originals, Cars, Pretenders, Romantics, Kinks, pretty much more of the same but we never got out of the basement. Steve and I are still great friends and he plays in Church now (he is a born again Christian) while I went through about 10 other bands moving into Americana full time in the mide 80s and have played either as a solo, duo or trio ever since. Stecve gave me his copy of this CD several years ago. Apparently Bad Trip has gone around the world thanks to Greg Prevost, who is friend to both of us and is of course, the lead singer of the famous Chesterfield Kings and permanent employee of the world Famous House of Guitars in Rochester, NY.
there are some tapes that exist of the Darelyx Mk II which I will digitize during the next year. Anyone interested here? Let me know.
