Holy crap. This is an amazing deal. I've only listened to two songs. I want to keep the suspence for the real album but.. this is the best Cale album I've heard in awhile. I didn't dig "To Tulsa and Back" that much, too much electronics. This? This?? Muah. I love it. :)

How many cd's do you hear that sound right from the first beat on.
Clapton riding piggy back but yet contributing more than obvious to the basic Cale stuff. It's just great music from two guys who have nothing to prove. Yes, Eric, do one more like that !

Album of the year for me. Part of Cale's genius is that his songs are deceptively simple and they just get stronger with repeated listenings. Some great guitar work from EC, but there's also the unmistakeable, subtle guitar work of JJ on a lot of the tracks.

I admit, I've only listened to the stream on my crappy computer and no songs all the way through, but I think it could be better. From what I've listened to (some of every song), it seems that Clapton is in there way too much. I think JJ is a better singer, songwriter, and a more tasteful guitar player than Clapton and I was hoping for it to be a JJ record with Clapton along for the ride rather than the other way around. It does have the JJ production, sound,players? and songs, but I wanted more JJ vocals and guitar. I think 'To Tulsa' is way better, and more rootsy. It'll probably grow on me once I pick it up.

Good, quality music, great musicians. However, what's with Clapton's overkill guitar? Playing hard pentatonic licks to what should be more "major". Cale is simpler, more basic, but got more taste.

Good regular stuff that you'd expect JJ and EC to record together; this album is not a masterpiece. I'm a bit disappointed. Clapton's best remains "There is One in Every Crowd" and Cale definitely had better songs too.
