Fleetwood Mac - Live At The BBC

Back in the mid-late 1960s (a time when giants walked the earth), Long John Baldry, The Yardbirds, and especially John Mayall and his Blues Breakers spearheaded the British blues band scene. Guitarists such as Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Peter Green (yep, in those days Peter Green was mentioned in the same breath as that illustrious line-up) floated in and out of various of these and other, minor, Brit blues bands. All went to school on early American blues legends such as Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, Willie Dixon, and Robert Johnson.
Here's the short version: Clapton became god, and Green's excessive use of drugs doomed him to a shadowy figure floating in and out of Brit blues history. Although Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac Live at the BBC was recorded between 1967 and 1970, this album sounds as if it were done yesterday!

i love green's style, always have. he ranks up there with all the big names that you mentioned. of all the brit blues guitarists his tone was the least forced. hey man, b.b. king said that he was the best of that bunch (i think that he knows a thing or two about guitar).despite his personal problems greeny was a fine string bender. 'nuff said. thanks for the great music

genial
